Professor Masashi Kitazawa’s research into brain cell dysfunction and death in subjects with Alzheimer’s disease has attracted attention from the Alzheimer’s Association, which has awarded the UC Merced neuroscientist with a grant to fund his studies.
Specifically, this research award will support Kitazawa’s exploration of neuroinflammation-induced alterations of GLT-1 and synaptotoxicity in Alzheimer’s disease.
